Activor's Stretch
Mark Eraser is a botanical skin care formulation that gradually reduces
the appearance of stretch marks that develop as skin is stretched too
quickly. Pregnancy, weight gain and bodybuilding are three common causes
of stretch marks. SME is based on developments in the field of peptide
chemistry. It uses small proteins to as signals initiate repair activities
in the skin. SME works on white and red stretch marks, but it better on
the white ones, since they are not as severe.
Origin of Stretch
Marks
The dermal layer
of skin contains two forms of collagen, Collagen I and Collagen III. Collagen
III is more elastic than Collagen I, providing tensile strength and cushioning
to the skin. Aging replaces Collagen III with the relatively inelastic
Collagen I. The collagen makeup of youthful skin is 70% Collagen III and
30% Collagen I.
Rapid stretching of
the skin distorts the collagen matrix and dermal architecture. Consequently,
the collagen fibers deposited in the dermal matrix under these harsh conditions
become irregular collagen bundles, rather than the regularly ordered,
cross-linked collagen fibers seen in un-stressed skin. Because irregular
collagen bundles cannot form cross-links with other collagen fibers, this
new dermis lacks the tensile strength of normal skin. This absence of
cross-linked collagen - and the growing predominance of irregular collagen
bundles in the dermis of stressed skin - results in the formation of stretch
marks.
Collagen synthesis
is naturally balanced against collagen degradation. SME
shifts the equilibrium between collagen synthesis and degradation in favor
of degradation. It achieves this effect by suppressing the rate of new
collagen synthesis. This allows for ongoing collagen degradation in an
environment of regulated collagen synthesis and deposition. Control over
this process favors the deposit of cross-linked collagen fibers in contrast
to the formation of irregular collagen bundles.
SME
in the Laboratory
Laboratory
investigation at SUNY Brooklyn's Department of Dermatology confirmed SME's
ability to suppress collagen synthesis. Dermatologists focused in on the
collagen precursor, PIP, during their evaluation of SME. At the study's
conclusion, it was observed that SME significantly decreased the production
of PIP.
Real World Findings
4 to 6 weeks of daily, liberal use of SME is
required before an improvement in stretch marks
is usually appreciated. Continued use of SME further reduces the appearance
of stretch marks.
Recommended use: massage
into stretch marks one or two times a day.
Each 120 ml. bottle
of SME last from 4 to 6 weeks.
