CONJUGATED LINOLEIC ACID

  • MAINTAINS LOWERED BODY FAT
  • PROMOTES LEAN TISSUE GAIN
  • REDUCES RISK OF HEART DISEASE

Did you know that a rich source of Conjugated Linoleic Acid, aka CLA, is Cheese Whiz®? It is. But it probably is not the best choice for it.

All joking aside, recently there have been a lot of positive reports about CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid). And justly so. CLA is naturally found in beef and dairy products.

CLA is a special isomer, or form, of Linoleic Acid. There are many CLA isomers, but certain ones stand out to offer the benefits of inhibiting fat gain, increasing lean muscle mass, slowing blood triglycerides (which lead to heart disease), and dampening allergic reactions.

As the long covering CLA studies elsewhere on this site describes, CLA doesn't cause fat loss, but rather it forces fat cells to stay small instead of being gorged with lipids that would normally attempt to fill them. And it appears to increase muscle mass by sending energy from food into lean tissue rather than fat cells.

Not all CLA is equal. One of the best and most reliable quality CLAs goes under the trademarked name of Tonalin. It contains a 50-50 mix of the two most beneficial forms of CLA.This brand of CLA is called Tonalin CLA. Another point to note is that CLA capsules are never 100% CLA. They are typically 60 to 70% CLA.

Recommended use for maintaining lower body fat and promoting lean mass is 3 to 4 1000 mg. capsules per day. Studies have shown that 3.4 grams of CLA per day is an optimal dose. Using much more provides no extra benefits.
